From 25 to 27 September 2026, ATSA brought together 82 students for the competition at Dewan Sri Putatan, marking another meaningful chapter in our students’ journey. For us, a competition is never simply about collecting medals. Every student came with a different goal. Some wanted to perform with greater confidence, some wanted to improve their techniques, while others simply wanted to challenge themselves and experience the competition floor. Whatever their personal target was, each student had something meaningful to work towards.

Months of training, corrections, practice and preparation came together on the competition floor, giving our students an opportunity to put their skills to the test, experience the pressure of a real competition and discover what they can do when it matters. We were proud to see our students step forward with confidence, knowing that behind every performance were many hours of preparation and the commitment of our masters, teachers, students and parents.

The progress we see on competition day is never the work of one person alone. It comes from everyone playing their part. Our students continue to attend training, practise and put in the effort. Our masters and teachers continue to guide, correct and prepare them. Our parents make time, arrange schedules, bring their children to training and continue to support them throughout the journey. When everyone is committed to the same goal, the results naturally become part of the journey.

Some moments went exactly as planned, while others became valuable lessons for the next training session. Both are part of growth. For our parents, thank you for walking this journey with us and for believing in your children through every step. Your commitment and support are an important part of every achievement we celebrate.

At ATSA, we believe every student has their own pace, their own strengths and their own goals. Our role is not to make every student the same, but to guide each one to become better than they were before. Every competition gives our students another opportunity to learn, test what they have prepared and take the next step forward.

When we look back at this journey, it is not only the results that make us proud. It is the confidence, effort, friendships and growth that our students and families have built together.

This is not just a performance night—it is a full-day ATSA event filled with rehearsals, performances, Poomsae competition, backstage activities and unforgettable moments for our students. To make everything run smoothly, we are looking for 20 dedicated AJK volunteers to join our event team!

No previous event experience is required. We will assign everyone a suitable role and provide the necessary instructions before the event.

All belt examinations are conducted once a year during the first quarter (January–March 2026). This schedule allows students ample time to refine their techniques and build a strong foundation for the year ahead.

Only students who have mastered the required techniques and maintained sufficient attendance will receive an invitation to participate in the exam.

We encourage all students to prepare early and avoid skipping training sessions to ensure full readiness and success.

Estimation Exam Schedule:

• Junior Belt on 10th January 2026 – Sunday 

• Senior Belt on 24th January 2027 – Sunday

the Interhouse Poomsae Championship: Champion in the Making, a progressive competition programme designed to guide students from their first step into competition towards becoming more confident, skilled and competition-ready athletes.

Combining online and on-ground competition experiences, students will have the opportunity to develop their skills, gain experience and challenge themselves step by step.

THE CHAMPION JOURNEY

1. February 2027 | Registration Opens
Students register to begin their Champion in the Making journey and prepare for the competition programme.

2. May 2027 | Online Poomsae Competition
Students participate in the online competition, allowing them to experience competing, demonstrate their skills and build confidence in a more familiar environment.

3. October 2027 | On-Ground Interhouse Championship
Students step onto the competition floor to showcase their preparation, discipline and performance in a on ground competition environment.

Eligibility Criteria: 

✅ All Student except  advanced class student
✅ Registration at counter Rm120 before 28.02.2027

In March 2027, ATSA will conduct a selection for students to participate in a Sabah Statewide Competition at Sabah. Selected students will receive the competition details, including the event, categories and requirements, after the selection. 

This competition performance and records will be evaluated by ATSA for potential selection into the ATSA National Team to compete at the National-Level Competition in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. Students selected for the team will then have the opportunity to undergo professional athlete training.

Student selection and preparation will begin during Advanced Class sessions in February 2027. Selected students will be informed at least one month before the competition to allow sufficient time for preparation and registration.

Eligibility Criteria: 

✅ All Advanced Class Student 

✅Pass Competition Syallbus 

Every year, all ATSA Advanced Class students, including Poomsae and Sparring students, are expected to participate in a state-level competition as part of their regular training and development. This annual on-ground competition provides students with the opportunity to test their skills, gain real competition experience, build confidence and identify areas for improvement.

Student selection and preparation will begin during the Advanced Class sessions from July, with focused competition training starting in August. Selected students will be informed at least one month before the competition to allow sufficient time for preparation and registration. 

So, do not skip your classes. If you miss your training and assessments, you won’t be get ready for the competition.

Eligibility Criteria: 

✅ All Advanced Class Student 

This event is open to all ATSA black belt students who wish to challenge their limits and gain experience on an international platform.

Registration can be made at the counter once it opens. Please note that this event involves air travel and accommodation arrangements, as participants will need to travel.

All expenses, including flight tickets, accommodation, and related costs, will be self-funded.
